Credit union members are able to make donations, participate in local events, volunteer, donate their spare change, and Give on the Go to support veterans.
The Credit Unions for Vets - Rise Up for Vet’s coin collection campaign is a great way to engage members in your fundraising initiatives. Simply place the canisters at your teller stations and member services representatives’ desks, and invite members to donate their loose change when they stop by the branch. It’s very easy for members to donate the change from a check they are depositing. Remember, a little bit goes a long way! Your members want to see you doing good in the community, and they want to be involved as well. The Rise Up for Vet’s coin drive is an easy way to help your members feel good about themselves and about your credit union!
Credit Unions for Vets is introducing a new tool to help credit unions raise more money, engage more members and help more kids undergoing medical treatment at local VA Medical Centers and approved facilities: “Give on the Go” digital fundraising. This new add-on tool enables credit union members to make onscreen donations when accessing their accounts on mobile banking, online banking and online bill pay. The tool is easy to implement, easy to use and available free of charge to credit unions participating in CU4Vets campaigns.
Why go digital? According to an ABA/Morning Consult survey, seven in 10 consumers now access their accounts most often via digital channels. By meeting members where they currently engage, “Give on the Go” has the capacity to reach more members, more frequently. Although “Give on the Go” has just begun its rollout, and this helps to raise more funds and awareness by implementing a simple format. You can provide a “Round Up” donation feature to your online bill pay. Overall, the addition of digital fundraising has increased other credit unions donations by 45%.
Promoting your purpose is relationship marketing. Successful fundraising certainly benefits Credit Union for Vets and the families it serves, but the benefits don’t end there. Independent research conducted by Catalist reports that 85% of Americans believe companies should support causes in their communities and around the world, and 78% think it is no longer acceptable for companies to just make money.
